Why is my going to the special trial part?

It's a medical malpractice case, it's been going on for almost 7years, it's up for stp in November

Yes, there will be conferences between the lawyers for both sides and the judge in STP. There can be many conferences...over many months,...or one or two, depending on the issues in the case and the position of both sides. Talk to your lawyer about this! Good luck.
