In NYC, if I lose a jewelry inside my fitness gym locker room, will the fitness center have security cameras to catch the theft?

This question is as of March 2018, under NYC law. Fitness center i.e. Equinox.

Answer

Doubtful they have cameras in the locker room, because of privacy concerns, however, if they have had previous reports of member's valuables stolen from that location, and they did nothing to address it, you could always make a claim against their insurance. If it's a high-value item, get an attorney to handle it.
